One brand everywhere: the X look becomes the style guide 9086ad3

BRANDART The unified brand family: profile badge, app icons, YouTube thumbnail and banner, all in the X design

With a YouTube channel (@HornetBay) joining X (@hornetbay), the brand got unified behind the X artwork — the pilot verdict on that look was "perfect, don't deviate." So it's now the written law: a proper style guide codifies the palette (flat dusk sky #444477 over ocean navy #003366, hornet amber #ffb737), the typography (bold italic serif wordmark — HORNET in white, BAY in amber, with the amber rule under HORNET — plus tracked sans caps), and the imagery rule that matters most: the Hornet is always the game's own 3D model, captured from the retro renderer with its chunky pixels intact, never illustrated or AI-generated. The YouTube collateral was rebuilt to match exactly: profile badge (the in-game Hornet top-down on navy, amber ring), the 2560×1440 banner with every word inside YouTube's safe area, the 1280×720 thumbnail, and the Shorts cut re-rendered with brand-true title bands. The retired patch art is fully replaced — including here on the site: the PWA home-screen icons and a new favicon now carry the badge (service worker cache bumped to v2 so the refresh reaches installed copies). Any future channel or touchpoint gets built from the same page — literally: hornetbay.com is the reference implementation.

Painting the Big E by the book: authentic CVN-65 deck markings e06f05d

A reference diagram of USS Enterprise flight-deck markings arrived — the full numbered callout sheet, JBD warning stripes to stern nameplate — so the deck texture got repainted by the book. New on the deck: yellow/black jet-blast-deflector warning stripes behind all four catapults, elevator warning fences (the dashed offsets) and diagonal warning stripes around every elevator opening, the iconic red/white foul line segmenting the island side of the angle deck, runway boundary dashes, catapult shooters' pits, armament elevators and barrier covers, a scatter of electrical hook-up panels, and ENTERPRISE lettered across the stern. The bow "65" was re-centred between the catapult tracks where it belongs (it had drifted onto a track). Everything is placed in deck metres from the diagram, painted into the same 3px-per-metre canvas. The panels above are the raw texture — the box top face mirrors it in-world, which is why the "65" reads backwards here and correctly on the ship. Verified in the dive view on the harness: foul line, hatches and fences all read from the cockpit at retro scale.
