The journal grows rails: paging at the top, a bigger search, tags on the right 2d51c42

SITE The blog with the larger search box pinned top-right, PAGE 1 of 12 with NEXT and LAST buttons at the head, and the tag filters railed down the right-hand side

A hundred and seventeen entries in, the journal needed better deck crew:

  1. Head navigation. The pager now rides the top of the page too — PAGE x/y, PREV, NEXT, and LAST one tap away before you scroll, mirroring the full pager at the foot.
  2. A search box you can see. The journal search is larger and pinned to the top right, above the entries — type, and the whole archive filters live.
  3. Tags move to the rail. The tag filters leave the top strip for a sticky right-hand sidebar; on narrow screens the rail folds back above the entries. The wide two-column reading layout stays home-only — article pages keep their 860px measure.
